fedde got a reaction from Bicknellski in [BETA] Freiexchange - Updates
I will repost the  header from FreiExchange due to the Bitcoin fork.
During this week we will release updated exchange with multiple trading pairs.
This means that first coin to be added is Solidar (SLR) Coin that is developed and supported by @Rik8119
During the upgrades, exchange we will be taken offline as we have some larger database upgrades to do, new hardware is installed also to make the trading go abit faster.
Alot of patches to fix problems that have been reported to us by the users is also applied, but we continue to improve things as we discover things. Exchange is still BETA, so be aware that changes can happend from a time to another.
    Thanks for your support, traders!

For more transparency here a short overview what the supply of Solidar was and what it is now:
Initial distribution phase (Blocks 1- 25k): 20 000 000 Solidar mined. 19 800 000 association coins for UBI/Basicincome and 200 000 Coins for miners. Mining rewards reward till Block 86000 1% = ~0.73 coins / Block. Mining reward now: 0.1% = ~0.073 SLR. That means during the next ~10 years coins available through mining will decrease from 200 000 to 20 000 coins.
Coins that were distributed by basic income were only a few hundred by now, so negligible. All bounties were payed from my personal wallet. Main supply is coming from mining atm but of course i hope this will change, so we increased the monthly payout to 10 SLR/capita. But atm there are only a handful recipients.
    Many greetings Rik

    > So what is your vision for the coin moving forward Developers?

My priority regarding Freicoin is starting to do rebases much faster and continuously, getting all the new improvements, bugfixes and features.
As for new consensus changes features, apart from those included in more modern versions of bitcoin (cltv[bip65], csv[bip68/bip112], segwit[bip141]), it would be nice to get features from https://elementsproject.org/ which now also rebases periodically. Specially I would like to have confidential transactions https://elementsproject.org/elements/confidential-transactions/ and confidential assets: https://elementsproject.org/elements/asset-issuance/ This is similar to freimarkets' basic asset issuance but with much better privacy. But that requires a hardfork, so it strongly depends on support from the community. There's also some incentive problems with the utxo, but I think we can solve them.
In general, that's my basic plan for Freicoin development: rebase and get new features from elements and bitcoin.
I'm also working on a block explorer for bitcoin, elements and liquid that I would like to adapt to freicoin as well.
But of course other people can work on other things.

In any case, this is rather orthogonal to the foundation's funds. So please, let's try to stay on topic.
New developments, new webs and potential consensus changes are all fine to discuss, but I don't think they are directly related to the question at hand, which is admitting we have failed as a community (and as devs) with the foundation and non-mining distribution, put an end to it and move on to other things.

Hi again, since my commet is off topic for the other threads it fits most in here. Thanks to @fedde 's exchange, the fresh ideas from @Skaro , @Adilado and @jtimon i am now again looking at freicoin with confidence. I am really exited to see the "freiexchange 2.0" in action and think that we will find a way to adopt Freicoin to the new situation to make up a worldwide freiconomy without debt and dangerous bubbles, because that was what we are here for since 2013.
I am now fully in FRC again and given up the positions in all other coins feeling good with it. I hope our ( @Bicknellski  , @Arcurus ) call  for do or die was the wake up call we needed.
    Thanks Rik.
BTW i am fully standing behind a HF if we need it to bring new needed features to Freicoin.

Just to add a sidenote here.
Foundation does not recive any more funds, so they are locked there for now.
Only thing that makes it slowly move from foundation addresses to circluating coins (usable coins trough minings) is the demurrage, so already the foundation coins supply about 72% of the demurrage while the rest is from user addresses. Blocks are now @95.36743164 and it will stay that way forever as it's the demurrage of the 100mill coins.

Sounds good BUT this need to be a proper lock on the blockchain. Not just "locked" until moved.
So its very good that the demurrage is largely paid by foundation. Now we timelock those funds forever and demurrage gets drawn from there and nowhere else.

I am actually finalyzing the exchange as we chit chat here, all tests are looking good so i am wrapping up and preparing to release it.
As arc says, if you want to get that amount of coins, it's not unreal to gain that in a month or two, coins are circulating and the userbase is growing slowly.

@Adilado currently we need mainly help for testing Freicoin 0.9 and the new version of the Freiexchange
with the 3 Million, not sure if I can help there much, i would try to place one by one 500 K orders on Freiexchange at some days even more then 800K are traded, so its not that unrealistic to buy 3 Million over one or two months.
Of course you may also find bigger investors that are ready to sell...

@Rik8119well actually that was as far as I got. I wasn't sure what kind of effort @jtimon was wanting to make. So I'm not sure how complex the idea could/should be. But it seemed that a new wallet with POS/POW split could distribute the Foundation funds. The demurrage is still a good idea and may be more attractive now with countries legalizing crypto-currencies.With a wallet at 0.14, Freicoin becomes modern and it could literally be a relaunch with The Foundation funds for redistribution. We could even have an ico (or I guess it would be a co)... ;-)

Thanks everyone for sharing your views!

    > Woergl f.e. was the most successful freigeld currency and they used it to pay for social infrastructure. And IMHO it is the only reasonable purpose to redistribute money to the poor.

The purpose of freigeld is not to redistribute money to the poor, but rather remove the existence of poverty under the assumption that is caused by chronic interest and cyclic monetary velocity.

    > option 2 is not fair to investors.

I don't see why not. The coins were planned to be put in circulation either way.
As "investor" I don't consider it unfair.

    I vote option 1.
I will share what I am thinking: I was never very comfortable with the idea of the foundation, because to me the idea of Bitcoin is using clever mathematics to avoid politics. A foundation picking winners and losers is the definition of politics, and I wasn't comfortable with being in that position.
There was some thought to use the foundation coin to come up with a provably fair way to distribute the foundation coins with a "faucet". But in my opinion this would take a level of mathematical innovation on the level of Bitcoin itself, and we are very unlikely to solve this problem if it is even possible.
Distributing the coin to miners is provably fair, but this is a political decision to reward the miners. Is there any indiciation that Freicoin needs a higher level of security which we would be buying with rewarding the miners at a higher rate?
Anyways, please consider opinion from someone who was involved in the release of this coin but not so much now, I apologize for that.

When Freicoin was launched, we thought the Freicoin Foundation could be a good way to use "excesive rewards to miners" for good causes and to promote Freicoin adoption. Since then, 3 of the people initially in the foundation have distanced themselves from the project (in part, because of the foundation), we haven't been able to keep up even with the matched donations distribution program, which also hasn't move towards a more decentralized implementation (like republicoin) and no other distribution programs have been implemented.     I haven't been maintaining the website properly and Mark hasn't done the matching often enough. We apologize for that.   Many potential users distrust Freicoin "because of the foundation's 'premine'". Sites are often confused about Freicoin's monetary base of 100 M because of the foundation's funds, and people often belive that Freicoin still has inflation on top of the demurrage (but the inflation was supposed to only last the first 3 years).   The foundation has also been a constant source of friction and conflict within the Freicoin community, often demotivating both users and developers when not causing direct confrontation between each other. It has also taken volunteer resources which could have otherwise gone to actual development and innovation.   At this point, I'm convinced that the Foundation has not only not helped Freicoin but actually has done the opposite.   On top of all that, the ecosystem has been invaded with "Initial Coin Offerings" and other schemes which I personally consider scams. And although I think the foundation is very different and not a scam, I'm no longer sure regulators will be able to tell the difference when the time comes. The last thing I had in mind when proposing Freicoin was going to jail because of the foundation (which actually was a later idea, wasn't there in the initial proposal).   We explained that if the foundation ever misbehaved or got their funds stolen, Users could activate a softfork to destroy those funds. The foundation can also destroy those funds unilaterally, but we want to ask the community what would be the preferred way to close the foundation, since there are several ways to achieve this technically.   Since it was promised to match 100% instead of 10% and some more donations were done with that expectation, we can do one last matching (including going from 10% to 100% retroactively as promised) before destroying the remaining funds.   Here are some other options, please,    1) Simply destroy them by sending them to an OP_RETURN output. This has the disadvantage that there will be inflation again and it will take very long until all the 100 M are issued.   2) Turn them back into mining rewards by creating txs only with fees that are locked in time, so that each block can take one. We can decide at which rate they're given to miners and for how long (until they're gone). With this we can get to the 100 M much faster and has the additional advantage that provides more incentive to mine (which is currently extremly low).   3) Distribute proportionally to the current freicoin holders. This has this has the disadvantage that chosing a given time may look unfair. Is it after the final matching, right after, wait for the donation receivers to spend their coins? This may also cause a price crash, but it's hard to tell.   4) Destroy the remaining funds like in option one, but also do a softfork to reduce the current miner subsidy so that instead of the monetary base growing to 100 M, it just remains to whatever it is now without the remaining foundation funds. This requires a consensus change, may cause a hasrate crash (because the incentive for miners will suddenly much lower) and we lose the round and beauty 100 M figure.   My favourite option is number 2, although it has more parameters to discuss.   If anybody thinks of another option, please, share it.   One more time, we apologize for how the foundation was handled, I wish we had never done it in the first place, but this is where we're at.

It's fixed in the new version along with multiple markets to trade on. As i said in email, some user experience that they don't get error message that the 2 factor is not enabled, some do, but i have rewritten the whole subroutine to manage the funds on withdraw.
And sorry for the delay on releasing btc, i am abit on and from yesterday and towards next monday, but i check in to process if needed.

Problem with getting added on other exchanges are the scary part of the demurrage.
Bter, bleutrade etc etc had us on, but very high fees to compensate the demurrage loss in the wallets. Others that have added freicoin, tend to get scared when they see balances decrese in the wallets and probarly triggering som alerts in their systems.
But on the other side we are much better enpowered today as we have a working block explorer with demurrage, all over a better network i would say, so why not give it a shot. I can't take care of it, but if someone else will take the task, go ahead.
