Ye should be able to sweepysweep the paper with the older client?
If we dont gots no plans for some wider activity/projects within the FRC community/people to get some projects running.. I'd say it'd be a waste of the FA funds to even offer a bounty for this task.

I tried with 0.8.6 on Sunday after Skaro posted the discrepancies between the nodes, but got stuck on block 163*** as well. Didnt mess around further, but messaged this thread to jtimon and maaku. Saw jtimon mention on IRC about doing/testing? some client updates on 27th.. dunno if its related.
Got some oldschool festivities this week around the town, so I'll try the newer client during next week... but hopefully we get a response before that from the devs

Hold on, now it has all blocks up to 165338. Ok, now i am confused. The explorer shows 164647 as last block. Maybe the wallet on the server has to be updated?

    "AcceptBlock() : rejected nVersion=2 block"
    Is the error i receive.
The Version from CBLockheader (main.h) is CURRENT_VERSION=3
And it looks like the pool is on the wrong fork, since somehow it tries to produce Version 2 Blocks although we already have Version 3 enabled.
So it would be important to stop the pool install the newest versions and start again.

What does your wallet say? How many blocks does it have? If your local wallet show 164645 blocks than you could check the debug.log. There normally it prints the error if a block is not accepted.
If you install the old wallet version and use it to produce valid blocks, than this is most likely the source of the error.

So I keep mining but don't recieve any transactions. My wallet is synched then not synched. I can only run version x.8.3. When I do Getpeerinfo, most nodes are at block 164645. The pool is at 165315.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Too bad them block explorers aint working (and I dont have mi notes at hand)... but if I recall correctly, Cryptsy held around 2million coins?

Pool is up to date again. Was a corrupted table in database that looped on one block and would not account further. Mining and rewards was not affected other then a delay as i had to do alot of manual work in the database.
Vircurex i have no clue around.
    cheers!

The problems at Vircurex and Fed&Fab pool seem to have occurred at the same time. Coincidence or an attack?

Nope no idea, i hope everyone got their coins secure? I think i had only a few thousand still sitting there, unlike the 150k FRC i lost on cryptsy.

1+2. The attempt to promote the coin is indeed pointess when you have close to zero support from any dev. That is why i started WLC which has merge mining included and the association % payout to redistribute the coin is fixed for all times plus it is much easier to keep a currency alive and on an exchange when you can influence its development. FRC sure still has a role to play during the next (even bigger) financial crisis but it has no sustainable redistribution mechanism, what makes the demurrage useless in my eyes.
    3. You said it: These are only features, there is nothing completely new no real innovation just pump and dump schemes. Ethereum tried it but just looking at the DAO disaster lets one guess how hard it is to supersede conventional centralized solutions with blockchain.
People are very short minded. The forget to easily how disastrous our money system is. As soon as it shows its evil face again they be back, i promise. To summarize a stock market wisdom: Buy the freaking dip.

Well it does seem to me that Freicoin has a few attributes that other slowly dying currencies don't have. Firstly, in many books on crypto currencies it's listed as one of the more innovative and interesting coins because of the demurrage concept. Second, it has a socialist anti-speculator sentiment that is popular these days. Also, because of the demurrage fee and the value of the coin, it seems to me that the fondation has no interest in holding funds either. So There is motivation to move that currency.
Of course one cannot deny there is only one mining pool, 4 regular miners, and most blocks only contain one or two transactions. The transaction  comprise mostly the creation of new coins (now recycled) and payments to miners. I'm not sure who the different addresses belong to.

Yes that is correct and the foundation with the tiny community need to address that very issue as has been mentioned many times in many other posts. Problem being with just a handful of miners and only 1 or 2 on the foundation things will not be done in the best interest of 1000's of potential future users. Then again the coin is dead at this point anyhow so I am not sure if any of this really matters if we can't get more users.

    1. I was of the opinion that besides demurrage we were going to see new features that would make FRC more interesting to a wider range of users, but nothing has moved forward at all in that respect from Mark and Jorge.

    2. We have as a small group in the Freicoin Alliance attempted to get more exchanges (failed because the coin has too few users), set up our own exchange again too few users to make the effort worthwhile, we have also tried to promote the coin in as many places as possible but we have no traction or growth in users no matter the time we have put in.

    3. Is there any point working on getting more users if the trend of most Alt-coins is slow death? Only coins that have new features seem to be doing well. The rest of the clones are dead for the most part. Are we just too late to make this coin work?

It seems to me, with the issuance of the coins complete and little circulation of currency, the demurrage process will effectively transfer the money from the foundation (and any other people holding large number of freicoins) to the miners. Since only the miners can get the new coins but will also loose coins, eventually all the money would be distributed amongst miners according to their hashing power. That would take about 13 years for 50% of the funds to move and 60 years for 95% of the funds to move to the miners. Its really just another issuance process.

The current block height is 160755. By my calculation that's 3,085 blocks (about 3 weeks) until the initial issuance of 100M freicoins is fully played out. That is also when the coinbase blocks stop including foundation outputs.
    Time to organize a celebration?

I will use 95$ USD as agreed to make repayment.

    I will use
    http://www.coindesk.com/price/   roughly:  747.53

for everyone and I paid the tx fees on top of this. Not liking that they have really made it very pronounced in the Bitcoin Core application in terms of making fees a central aspect. Oh here we go right expenses to rise on transfer of Bitcoin waiting until government or large corporations get control of this and watch the FEES increase. These small companies that now provide mining power are ripe for being bought out. I would hope there is a way to avoid that with FRC.

Thank you so much lenders. Our students are going to continue making chocolates this year and into the future. Such programs are really a good test of using crypto to help others. I am very interested in help people in Indonesia that need basic things like food, electricity, housing, micro loans and clean water. I will keep thinking about how our school can work on that with the FRC Alliance and use FRC as the medium of exchange. We need to work on a FRCJam I think with a Kiva like loan aspect really. If we only had a stable FRC to do this.

Finished pralines and chocolate bars ready to ship.

    More awesome news.

Two orders totalling 13 more boxes of 9 came in Monday (today as of post). And we have shipped the 50 boxes of the big order so we will continue working hard to clear that order this week and next.

So that should get us very close to our goal of breaking even on the Chocolate School training and we will once we clear these orders we will repay the loan in full to you guys on or about the first week of December.
