  1. Are you upgrading old wallet or is this the first? If first time, download and unzip widows zip file, unzip, double click on Freicoin-qt (located in src/bin/64 or something like that).
  2. As far as 0.9 is concerned, it's been running fine on my computer for the last few months. Honestly, I've been waiting until I redo my floors, and set up my office with a new Linux pc then try building wallets again.
  3. @Rik8119well actually that was as far as I got. I wasn't sure what kind of effort @jtimon was wanting to make. So I'm not sure how complex the idea could/should be. But it seemed that a new wallet with POS/POW split could distribute the Foundation funds. The demurrage is still a good idea and may be more attractive now with countries legalizing crypto-currencies.With a wallet at 0.14, Freicoin becomes modern and it could literally be a relaunch with The Foundation funds for redistribution. We could even have an ico (or I guess it would be a co)... ;-)
  4. You need reheight to calculate the demurrage... also, transaction are normally included in a block 1 or 2 blocks later, maybe a few days later currently in Bitcoin. The question arises, who pays that demurrage? You may exceed your balance while you wait. So it gets transferred to the recipient Of the transaction, albeit delayed.
  5. @Arcurus combining destroying the Foundation with a soft fork, a wallet release, and alternative distribution mechanism would be ideal. It could be marketed as almost a relaunch of Freicoin too. But i wanted to mention that there are something like 680000 distinct public address that have been generated. Probably most are change adresses that have tiny balances (I can actually do these queries relatively easily with readable keys with the way I have the explorer set up on my PC). Maybe many addresses are abandonned, but a vast majority probably belong to the mining pool (This sh
  6. @Fabrizio that's quite interesting. Could you be a little more specific?
  7. Realisticly and logically, Freicoin presently has no real value. It has only a few active users that only trade it for speculative purposes (arguably that's the case with most alt coins). If any 'investor' would try to cash in their Freicoins, the exchange rate would crash. Also, the Foundation was supposed to put the funds in circulation in three years. Whatever social project received it was supposed to spend it. (On that note, if the only place to spend Freicoin is in the exchange markets, the social projects are no different from the miners. Until its swappable for labour or goods,
  8. oh. my address is 15RvK4YNVMbGsBiaLjA98vUGMuRaU4gvVz
  9. So @Fabrizio, @Bicknellski, @Mollycat, @whisper1970, and anyone else. If you could, please vote.
  10. Hmmm, synching gets stuck at block 74516.
  11. I'll vote for option 2, but I'm more interested in a decision being made efficiently and implemented. UPDATE: so ill support any except option 3. It has bad optics and many wallets have been abandoned.
  12. @Rik8119, I still have no idea how to register for basic income for Solidar.
  13. @Rik8119 for a full wallet, I should use the one at https://www.winc-ev.org/english/downloads-contact/
  14. Is there any kind of beginner's guide to modifying Bitcoin?

    Won't confirm

@Rik8119 do you think you could help Jert here? The way I see it, the transaction was sent on an abandoned chain and can simply not be reconciled with the current chain. @Jert you could try emailing Mark Friedenbach at [email protected] . There is also this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=35214.0. Let me know how it works out.
  16. @jimbit, for 2-factor enabled password, (I am not an expert on the different ways) but I use Google Authenticator. You have to set-up Google Authenticator by scanning the barcode or inputting the key in Freiexchange in the '2-factor enable' window--honestly I did it only once and can't quite remember the details, but it worked out fairly easily.
  17. @jimbitFor withdraws there is: 1) a 2-factor enabled security check the user must do; 2) sometimes funds will be needed to be moved from cold to hot wallets; 3) for BTC, there is a manual release required by admin.

  19. That appears to be the correct one. I also did a search and do not find a 174558 in it (to make sure we are seeing the same thing)
  20. Here is the up to date one. Unfortunately, you will have to reparse the whole block chain because the newer version parses in reference height. https://github.com/eddef/bitcoin-abe/tree/master/Abe
  21. hmmm that's not the latest version. We don't discount that variable anymore. Also, we were using 174558 as a test. Maybe that lingered around for a while though, but it is not like that in mine.
  22. Thanks. That's awesome that it's working. Downloading an SLR Wallet was on my list of things to do (I really should write it down). So I'll send you an addy this weekend. There are still some improvments to make: fees are not calculated correctly in the transaction view (the are correct in the block view); we don't really need to show 'outstanding' or coindd. So I'll let you know when they are made. So... is there a website for your explorer?
