  1. Please take a moment to sign a petition on Avaaz against this greedy action against Maasai people - - - - - Tanzania’s government is tearing up the promise we helped the Maasai win. Before they meet their Prime Minister to defend their sacred land, let's hit 2 million signers -- their email from last year is below! Dear friends, We are elders of the Maasai from Tanzania, one of Africa’s oldest tribes. The government has just announced that it plans to kick thousands of our families off our lands so that wealthy tourists can use them to shoot lions and leopards. The evictions are to begin imm
  2. I'd see benefit to do it via Freicoin Alliance Give the choice for the community for which projects to support, and allow people to develop those projects together. I like it! I dont see much of benefit in going at this project via the Micro Loans Project, since it would hinder the communitys participation a bit. So, something like a community project via Freicoin Alliance / something incorporating the FreiPay idea, would be to my liking I was thinking of doing it purely as a community project at start; organize the group buy for the miners, detail and agree on the growing equipment
  3. Yeah, might fit there better now, since there's interest around the topic
  4. Haha, I recommend something more uplifting ~refreshments for the next meeting! That've must been some serious couchlock that was offered there, everyone as low as they can go on their chairs, hahaha Some good whiskey and cigars for next time too, adds to the credibility as well Hehehe, brilliant pic, laughs of the day
  5. I've been having the same kind of problem with one of my wallets. I'd guess its somehow related to the wallet.dat size, or the incoming transaction count in it. This is the wallet that has the address I've used for Joe's pool, and its been in use since the beginning of the year.. and since Joe's pool has the instant payout system, there's quite a lot of transactions File size is around ~13MB, transaction count well over 10k. *edit to add: I played around with this a bit and came across some ~weirdness; - Few times when created a transaction to send 2500 FRC seemed to proceed as the wallet
  6. A clip by ex CNN reporter who turned a 'psychonaut', Amber Lyon How Psychedelics are saving lives
  7. Clip from TV serie The Homicide, talking about Sex in TV series, the hundreds of TV channels, high definition, virtual reality, internet "the electronic information super highway" *edit: ohh yeah, the episode aired 14th of October, 1994 (The Homicide is a great serie BTW, one of my all time favourites, so highly recommend watching it if one is looking for a good informational entertainment )
  8. Posting some videos and clips from old movies and events that predict future happenings in the world. To start, here's a clip from the movie Good Will Hunting (1997), predicting the war(s) in middle east and NSA spying:
  9. Posting some inspirational videos in this thread To start, here's a clip with some added graphics from Charlie Chaplins film, The Great Dictator (1940)
  10. Woosh! It's all good, read the post you made in the other thread a while back (and have totally forgotten/not had the time to post a sensible reply :F), so a little time off is no wonder ^^ But great to see ye back now buddy! And yeah, would be cool to see some sketches and ideas, so feel free to post anything related here I've taken a liking in the Perception Dollar's design which Arcurus shared a link to in other thread, could be something to get some ideas from: http://www.communitycurrency.org/perception.html
  11. Yeah, the yields differ hugely with soil vs aqua systems So far from the experiences I've had, DWC has been the most productive system. However, the taste, and apparently the nutritional values, suffer in these. Especially with bigger plants. Incorporating the fish and the biogas systems would most probably change this a bit, so, like said, I'll definately look into these during this winter and hopefully get to testing in the summer at the latest ^^
  12. Cool Bick! Thanks for the linkies and vids ^^ The biogas stuff is new to me, so will hafta look into them at some point. I'm familiar with aqua- and hydroponics, though I like the soil better for the taste But, then again, I havent had the chance of using fish in the systems.. which I'd guess would make a big difference. I've tried having simple composts inside the greenhouse for heat which have worked alright to certain degrees, but when the temps hit -30c and below outside, they've just not been enough :I With the miners it could be different though
  13. I like the idea of the perception dollar, but its been hard to get people here in the town to understand even the concept of cryptocurrencies. I've spoken about the Ubuntu ideology.. world without money, barter, value, etc. but people are not ready to accept those ideas yet. This is a small town, with only less than a hundred people living here. Counting the surrounding towns, the population is maybe around two hundred. And.. the average age is somewhere around 50 I'd guess Most folks 60+. With only a handful of teenagers (I know only two here this town ), and most of them will likely move t
  14. And now its already monday... Fedde at morning today?
  15. Oki, here goes my current idea for the community dividends: 1. Set up a community bank/reserve and fund it (for example with 100 000 FRC). Single address. 2. Create paper wallets of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 FRC. Use the FRC from the community banks single address to fund these. 3. Confirm the identities of participants and create two individual addresses for each 4. Distribute certain amount of these paper wallets (to be decided) to each registered community member. 5. Allow exchange of these wallets 1/1 to Euro's. Keep these exchanged Euro's as a reserve for common good community pro
  16. Ohh, and ye I think you meant that its not so much of an "Conspiracy Theory"? But a known conspiracy, that has been validated / acknowledged to be true... reality, like you said People and companies conspire daily. That's known.. and prettymuch the norm in the today's age when the competitive environment doesnt support opennes and transparency
  17. Yup! You nailed it, was about to point this out after few other points And like they mentioned in the video linked above, there's now starting to be more scientist getting on the diabetes type 3 idea and research. Diabetes rates have indeed started to skyrocket when the sugar industry gained a hold of the food supply. A great documentary explains some aspects of this, called King Corn This is a great talk on sugar: There's many talks from this guy (Robert Lustig) and the talk has been updated a bit, so I recommend to dig into his research ^^ But! Also, the containers these common day f
  18. I'm for the citizens dividend / basic income, but wouldnt see the basing of it in dollar value (or any other fiat) to be good in the long run since the crypto markets are driven so greatly by speculation and other greedy actions and fuckery (pardon my french ). I've been wrecking my brain with this for months and would see the technology needing to mature a bit more before this would be possible in world wide scale Something like freimarkets/republicoin could allow this to be achieved? For now, one solution could be to have communities establish common good projects / activities to provide t
  19. I'm not in any way fluent or skilled in jQuery or jQuery mobile, but if needed, I could show the kids the very basics for using these to manipulate sites done with HTML This would be later next month though, as I'm already busy with getting some projects to get running here in the town
  20. In future, POW could & should become more decentralized when (or if? since big corps are making it hard to develop technologies) free energy devices become more available and community driven hardware development and mining operations start to pop up? Cant really comment on the POS, since I dont totally understand the underlying technology
  21. Sugar, sucrose, glucose, high fructose corn syrup, cornflour, modified [insert ingredient here]... seen these in the products ingredient lists you've bought? These are nowdays the ingredients that some of the products are mostly made of, and they're not good for your body. Theyre all prettymuch sugars. Sugar has been long touted to be as addictive as heroin in the human body. One could think that those are added in the products to increase consumption? They're also not good for your gut flora.. and gut flora controls much of your bodys responses. It has been scientifically shown since deca
  22. If people are interested in investing in the farming equipment, I will gladly open that for the community I thought to offer to fund those since it would add to the costs.. and it would be hard to share those resources when they are not used during the summer time. I do have few hectares of fields around the house however, that could be used for community involved farming (this is something I'll be driving here in the town next summer too), so maybe we can work something out? Hmm, I've thought about the donation matching and farming too.. I've farmed the Finola strain of hemp during the la
  23. Hmm, ohh yeah Maybe thats indeed 100% the same goal in the end... In their last newsletter, they reminded the five main points: Seems like I have had the old way of thinking too much imprinted in my thoughts still... I took the the mentioned "gift based economy" to mean, that there would be a some kind of value attached to it in a way... but indeed, you're right, it doesnt have to have such thing So yeah, its prettymuch the same goals or ideals ^^ I've also shot them a couple of emails during the past months and tried to get a conversation going, but so far with no response. They've

Haha, yeah, we might have to start a topic for that one too actually ;D Awesome! Thanks!
  25. Yup, maaku agreed on everything on the OP; currently the matching is running with bare minimums to make it functional. I asked about the possibility of having the matching in the testnet side, and maaku will setup the necessary tools: Addition to this: The matcher logs the activity, so can be parsed through to show the data in easy to read format Also, asked how long it usually takes for Foundation to approve the project after submitting the request -> Not long, like a day. After approval, addresses etc. info creation is automated.
