  1. I posted here now a draft for a Freicoin roadmap: https://freicoinalliance.com/topic/560-draft-freicoin-roadmap And here a more detailed proposal for the Freicoin giveaway: https://freicoinalliance.com/topic/559-draft-universal-dividend-project As always feels welcome to give your feedback! And thx for the great discussion nice to see so much engagement!
  2. Hi Freicoiners, here is a draft for a Freicoin roadmap. As always feel free to give your feedback, Martin Main Goals: - encouraging fair distribution and access to money - encouraging a Frei Economy based on the common good Short term: - Get started with the Freicoin giveaway - having p2p pool work - Having updated Freicoin clients - Restructuring Freiexchange as easy to use wallet (sending coins internally per name or per address) - Moving the Alliance Funds to somebody who wants to take care of it. I would nominate Sk
  3. Hi all, I outlined now the freicoin giveaway / universal dividend project more in detail here: Feel welcome to give some feedback!
  4. Hello Freicoiners, currently we plan to make a Freicoin giveaway thorough using the Alliance Forum infrastructure. To speed up the registration without increasing much the danger of fraudulent accounts the following draft for an universal dividend project is invitation based and designed with three different registration levels. The intention of the first level is, that people can easily join through an invitation so that people can get easily some experience with Freicoin. The verification for the second level is more harder to get and receives the full dividend. The third
  5. I was talking about decentralising the coin issuing, not the giveway. Dash for example has decentralised voting on budgets. As long as you have at least partly proof of stake to hinder vote blocking through miners there is no reason why it should not function.
  6. As summary my suggestion is: 1. Starting with the Freicoin giveaway with Alliance Funds, because these are already matched at least partially from the Freicoin Foundation. 2. Getting direct support from the Freicoin Foundation for the giveaway 3. Depends on the Freicoin Foundation. If they support the giveaway we have enough time to implement a decentralized coin issuing, if not we can go for the centralized solution.
  7. the master node layer two enforces on the blockchain layer 1, that a certain percentage of the block reward to used for other things then mining. demurrage is given out as block reward, so we could do it similar. To 2: This would be implemented similar to the current foundation but with new addresses or? The por of this is, that it should be easy to implement, the con is, that it again puts in a central instance. What do others think, would it be fine to reintroduce that, or should we first implement stake voting / POS? I think to implement POS could take a wh
  8. in dash layer 2 are the master nodes. They enforce on the layer 1, which is a normal blockchain with proof of work, that 45% of the block reward goes to master nodes and 10% to project founding. They also enforce, that instant transactions accepted by the master node layer are not double spent in layer 1. Theoretically masternodes could agree on a block candidate that is then enforced to be used by layer 1. You cannot create masternodes out of thin air, because you need to have a security deposit of 1000 dash. Therefore masternodes behave similar to proof of stake. ¨Reintroduce tithe ra
  9. For me most important is to start with what makes Freicoin unique, thats alternative issuing methods like the giveaway. In short term we could use our own coins to make the issuing, in the long run we should use some part of the demurrage. The easiest way to implement that would be to make a Freicoin Soft Fork that gives some part of the block reward to a hardcoded address. It would be enough if the main Freicoin nodes / currently mainly the two exchanges we have would enforce the softwork. The bad thing is, that this would introduce again a central point of failure
  10. yes, just change something so that current asics cannot mine it.
  11. we tried that. Mainly the time zones have been the biggest problem.... for some weeks it was going well....
  12. Sorry to say but I fear, you are completely full of shit SegWit is just another way of storing signature data in an extended block. It has nothing to do with proof of stake. Bitcoin is far too conservative to implement something like proof of stake at this moment and i can understand, never change a running system. Proof of stake is far more complicated to implement right. Right now bitcoin has also no big reason to implement it (other than burning billions of dollars and beeing attacked by a hostile miner cartell without having the stakeholders anything to say then dumping the
  13. one by one. First lets concentrate in distributing them to people. If they have coins it more easy to bring merchants on board again. Some part of the giveaway we could use to give reduced prices if they use freicoin. In the beginning i guess its good to start with proxy payments in the community.
  14. yes we need a way to distribute coins other than mining. I would not say take away from the wealthy, i would say we use stuck coins to bring them in circulation again and therefore help both the wealthy and the poor to become wealthy. Because stuckness is good for nobody.
  15. I guess adopting Proof of stake voting for Freicoin is beyond what a bouty can provide and needs long term commitment. ¨just has to be confirmed by¨ I guess that's not that easy to get, in the past maaku was one of the most advocate for mining, maybe that changed now with all what is going on currently in Bitcoin with miner centralisation and the example of proof of stake based coins like daesh, soon ethereum, bitshares, steemit etc. I guess what maaku is worried most about is the replay attack possibility by proof of stake, but as outlined in my proposal this could be much red
  16. The proposal outlined linked below could be implemented in three steps: First adding POS voting Second adding project voting Third adding member voting This proposal as outlined now would require a hardfork. I can look into it if we could implement it also without. The frei node proposal based on dash master nodes could be implemented in a second layer. The dash proposal would also allow all the tools dash has for voting etc. Because dash is based on bitcoin same like Freicoin it could be relatively easy to adapt. Another option would be to use s
  17. For my part, what i mainly need right now to proceed is someone to discuss the details of the different options pro / con. At best it would be great to have also maaku and jitmon to be engaged in this.
  18. I would love to see Rik joining the Freicoin development! In the past one of our biggest problem was and still is the communication with the main developers / maaku / jitmon since they started to be fully engaged with Bitcoin core development. In away it's good, because they got there ton of experience, on the other way it's bad, because they don't seem to have time or enough time with Freicoin. Even simple things like matching the funds got stuck. Therefore it would be great to know who much they want to be committed to Freicoin and if they are willing to help to design and or
  19. The changes outlined above do not necessarily need to change the layer one code / current Freicoin client. All could be implemented in a second or third layer. The old node would simply follow the most mining power, which follows the economic majority. All outlined above for the second layer is already implemented in dash we ¨just¨ have to copy it and adapt it for Freicoin and most important test it. The current Freicoin client could just run as layer 1. As layer two we could use a full independent client. Could be a copy of based on the current Freicoin client, or a total new impl
  20. I guess the best way to reach fedde is in the chatroom: https://chat.freicoin.info/channel/Freicoin I fully agree with that, we should handle it like dash to clearly communicate that this number is not set in stone but depends on how much security is needed and should be changed based on research. Research papers like ALGORAND: The Efficient and Democratic Ledger from Turing award winner Silvio Micali seems very promising way to secure blockchains in the future. Proof of sake and proof of members could be implemented in a second or third layer like dash does it with masternodes.
  21. here a link to ALGORAND: The Efficient and Democratic Ledger: https://arxiv.org/abs/1607.01341 from Silvio Micali an turing award winner An here the link to the coinbase article: http://www.coindesk.com/scalable-blockchain-consensus-turing-award-winner-thinks-hes-got-solution
  22. yes. I m all in for a combination of proof of stake and proof of member in the long run. proof of stake = one coin one vote proof of member = one active verified member = one vote With both in place there would be a balance between people who invested their resources and people that invest their life.
  23. looks like some 1000% in less than one month. But still very low volume. I really hope that we bring the coin distribution to run
  24. the current plan is to use the infrastructure from Freiexchange to give out coins directly to people. Fedde has already all the code for verifying phone per sms. He just needs some time to clean up thinks. He then wants to talk to maaku to get direct coins for the giveaway. If it functions, we have more arguments to make it permanent and use some part of the block reward.
