Skaro reacted to Rik8119 in Were to sell Freicoin
They did not write back, so i guess they are too busy, or they gave up on vircurex or freicoin.
To the question: Both is the Case but when they switch to the new wallet the wallet should recognize that the transaction was never received by the network and recover them automatically. All that is left to be done for vircurex is to resend the transaction. But nobody knows if or when they react :-(

Well, looks like whole network is out of sync.

Skaro reacted to fedde in Escrow service
Just popping in before xmas with a ideea.
Played abit with creating a multiplatform for both work as a frcjam / escrow service as it's not that hard to work out a working scheme to actually make it work.
But if i am going to do this, i will build a complete platform for Project funding, escrow and possible a very simple trade engine.
FreiExchange (frcjam,escrow and trading)
FRCJAM:
Create zero intrest loans. Possible with funding with frc, wlc, btc and cash? If btc/wlc/cash it would be automatic converted to FRC in platform to make some coins circluate. Payout in frc/btc?
Escrow:
As topic says, simple escrow service for user to user trades.
Trading:
Simple orderbook with buy/sells where users can buy and sell freicoins. Also market for jam cash/btc/wlc -> FRC conversion to fund the projects.
Attaching a simple possible look on the jam section. I have a lot of code laying around to construct into one platform.
Just air it as an ideea.

Although Vircurex is online again i will keep the thread alive.
But also as OTC trading. As common for OTC trades you can send me pms for non- public requests. These will not be entered here and will be completely done via the forum personal chat.

Well only because they were offered very cheap doesn't mean they are not worth much more ;-). However, thanks for the offer.

Are you using windows?
Yes, on Windows it is a little bit different. On Ubuntu/Linux this is usable without problems.
Have you tried WOW64. It should run automatically but maybe it isnt?

I don't have a node now (shame on me, I wasn't able to compile the other day).
From what Rik8119 says, it seems that the longest chain is invalid, because the blocks have nVersion=2
> I can only run version x.8.3.
There's your problem then, once bip66 was activated, all miners need to validate it and produce nVersion=3 blocks.
From what it's in the release notes you need 0.8.6.2, see https://github.com/freicoin/freicoin/commit/808ee0ecab1e075c0835e74cd85627d3e5b1dd1d

I tried with 0.8.6 on Sunday after Skaro posted the discrepancies between the nodes, but got stuck on block 163*** as well. Didnt mess around further, but messaged this thread to jtimon and maaku. Saw jtimon mention on IRC about doing/testing? some client updates on 27th.. dunno if its related.
Got some oldschool festivities this week around the town, so I'll try the newer client during next week... but hopefully we get a response before that from the devs

"AcceptBlock() : rejected nVersion=2 block"
Is the error i receive.
The Version from CBLockheader (main.h) is CURRENT_VERSION=3
And it looks like the pool is on the wrong fork, since somehow it tries to produce Version 2 Blocks although we already have Version 3 enabled.
So it would be important to stop the pool install the newest versions and start again.

Skaro reacted to Rik8119 in [Fed&FAB] Official Thread
Hold on, now it has all blocks up to 165338. Ok, now i am confused. The explorer shows 164647 as last block. Maybe the wallet on the server has to be updated?

Skaro reacted to Rik8119 in [Fed&FAB] Official Thread
Hi, no my wallet is stuck at 163795. And i got a lot of orphan blocks in the logfile. hmm

Skaro got a reaction from Fabrizio in [Fed&FAB] Official Thread
So I keep mining but don't recieve any transactions. My wallet is synched then not synched. I can only run version x.8.3. When I do Getpeerinfo, most nodes are at block 164645. The pool is at 165315.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

The problems at Vircurex and Fed&Fab pool seem to have occurred at the same time. Coincidence or an attack?

Skaro got a reaction from Fabrizio in 3 more weeks until initial issuance is complete
Well it does seem to me that Freicoin has a few attributes that other slowly dying currencies don't have. Firstly, in many books on crypto currencies it's listed as one of the more innovative and interesting coins because of the demurrage concept. Second, it has a socialist anti-speculator sentiment that is popular these days. Also, because of the demurrage fee and the value of the coin, it seems to me that the fondation has no interest in holding funds either. So There is motivation to move that currency.
Of course one cannot deny there is only one mining pool, 4 regular miners, and most blocks only contain one or two transactions. The transaction comprise mostly the creation of new coins (now recycled) and payments to miners. I'm not sure who the different addresses belong to.

Skaro got a reaction from Fabrizio in 3 more weeks until initial issuance is complete
It seems to me, with the issuance of the coins complete and little circulation of currency, the demurrage process will effectively transfer the money from the foundation (and any other people holding large number of freicoins) to the miners. Since only the miners can get the new coins but will also loose coins, eventually all the money would be distributed amongst miners according to their hashing power. That would take about 13 years for 50% of the funds to move and 60 years for 95% of the funds to move to the miners. Its really just another issuance process.

Skaro reacted to Rik8119 in [Alliance] Freihour - For unit of account - Discussion
"Debt; the first 5.000 years" Very good book indeed. I read it end of last year. But he is not into demurrage. He prefers the debt cut at certain points of history. Maybe he never heard of demurrage which is much better because of the stable redustribution of wealth.
The hour is a very good measure for work because it is universal! Also used by the minuto initiative. I totally agree with that measurement.
