  1. I am not against it, I just would prefer to give a thousand people 10 coins than 10 people 1000 coins. To point it: I wanna spread the coins as far as possible but if we can't reach more than 100 then well it may be the way, what do the others think?
  2. I found this idea also on another project (circles) that brought up the idea to use the tier2 Kraken accounts to prevent the siblings problem. They need a bank account, an address and a name to verify that you are you. As they did already an airdrop with stellar, they are familiar with the idea. I offered the same thing for solidar to c-cex exchange, their main argument was that the coin was valued too low to make sense of an airdrop. Not quite an argument as we have seen that alcoins can rise 3000% a day in price. But of course this problem is solveable. Though we can - and should - start wit
  3. Very good question. I never did it, but @jtimon said they already started. The configure --with-incompatible-bdb was doing Ok on my server though it gave the error that something was wrong with serialize.h in line 789 during compiling..
  4. Ok my bad, the installation routine changed to: ./autogen.sh ./configure make I installed autogen, but it is still giving me some errors at ./configure
  5. So, Acurus wrote that 0.9 is ready for testing and i tried to compile on Lubuntu. First it has no makefile unix to compile, so i coppied it from freicoin 0.8 - it started to compile but give me an error: In file included from net.h:18:0, from alert.cpp:9: util.h:102:2: error: #error missing boost sleep implementation after i uncommented the error in "inline void MilliSleep(int64_t n)" in line 102 in util.h ( the error: No rule to make target obj/bitcoinrpc.o obj/leveldb.o comes up. i had that error earlier, so this is maybe not connected to the up
  6. Sounds good to me though -looking f.e. at the DAO - i am not sure if a decentralized giveaway program could work like intended..
  7. Ok, maybe it's me but i don't see how this could help the distribution of the demurrage coins. 2. Include a check in the client that tests if a certain amount of the block reward goes to a defined foundation address.
  8. Hi, nice to see movement around here. I could write a long text to cover all the things that are discussed here, but as @Skaro said we all have a life and not only FRC, so i will write a short summary of my priorities: Short term (before anything else): Reintroduce tithe ratio to have funds for social purpose. Short term: Introduce a distribution mechanism for the funds (most likely a citizen dividend) If those two points are filled we have achieved a lot. Centralization is a problem for bitcoin because its decentralized structure makes is slow and needs a
  9. @Skaro i looked at it and as far as i can tell from the chat on the forum it is freicoin ported to bitcoin version 0.14 or am i wrong here? @Arcurus Best way would be to make a bounty to integrate all those things for freicoin. Although we all seem to have some coding ability @fedde is doing a great job with the exchange and is out of this. And with a bounty and a pull request this just has to be confirmed by @Mark Friedenbach to be integrated.
  10. Demurrage is thought to be the start of a cycling of money. Take away from the wealthy, give to the poor and repeat. In this way there can be no bubbles within the monetary system. But to do redistribute it effectively the money has to flow from stakeholders to the people. When it flows to the miners it is sustainable but there is no redistribution because the miners already belong to the wealthy class. So we need an active redistribution (Use the demurrage coins to support the poor). For that we need the demurrage coins to be collected by an organization that then distributes the co
  11. So it would be stakeholders "against" users. Although it is an very interesting idea (in times when there are few users, stakeholders get more and when there are many users the users get more), i see that this is complicated to implement when we don't even get the few lines of code out of the devs to make freicoin sustainable.. Imho even 20% of demurragecoins for miners is very generous. But as this was the starting point it is much better than what we have now.. And if we implement it then Solidar becomes obsolete, because this is why i started the project: establish a sustainable r
  12. and given the low sell pressure it could be even more if we make the coin sustainable and get a useful redistribution in place..
  13. Hopefully there will be no Freicoin Unlimited discussion ;-).
  14. of course i was just thinking that an airdrop has a huge pr effect and to sustain an ongoing payment we definitely need the hard fork to distribute mining rewards to the foundation funds..
  15. Hi, i thought about the whole foundation funds and donation matching story. And maybe it makes sense to start something like the Aurora project. Some airdrop of coins - but of course worldwide -. Some QE for people... Though i think the implementation could be a little bit tricky, it is maybe the most convenient way to distribute the funds.
  16. HI, sorry for bringing up the topic of the opening post. but i have a question to you fellow freicoiners: I think that it is very important for a system to be sustainable. This is why i fixed the miner/budget ratio in Solidar. In Freicoin we have now the situation that all mined coins go to the miners. Its not that i don't want them to run a profit but in times when the foundation is less active this could lead to an unnecessary price decrease. As the inflow/outflow in these time would still be the same it shouldn't mean less profits but a higher price and that would decrease the volatili
  17. I'm so glad fedde managed to set up this smart and simple exchange, absolute professional. Without it this would be unthinkable..
  18. PURE PUMP THREAD HERE! What happened? High volume offers are gone @freiexchange.com ;-(
  19. Ok, it is not exactly like fiat money. But i see what is happening today and lay it on this model. If there is a monthly inflation in prices of 1%, the prices are rounded to the next higher cent. 1.05,- would end up as 1.07.- not 1.06.-. For small businesses this makes no big change but for large it makes a real difference. So as fast rising prices are too confusing for most people and the big corporations will profit more. The result is inequality and rising prices that are slowly eating up the basic income like inflation in fiat money slowly dissolves loans. Summarized: Using inflation
  20. Hi felixlim, sorry for the late answer. I like your attitude, but like you said there are many other good systems and technologies and it is a very hard for a "new" idea to be noticed. Even bitcoin is small compared to the overall volume and altcoins are even smaller. So the possibility to "fail" is high. The good thing is: there is a huge potential during the coming global financial crisis. To me personally i do not like to be dependent on investors. And to bind a part of the basic income to businesses is a unnecessary ballast, because it do not contribute much to the system. The tru
  21. Hi here are some of my questions: ----I'm quite against the idea of bitcoin or friecoin using a fixed amount of currency and let market decide the value. Especially its very prompt for founders/investor to hog huge % of the currency, or mining to create new coins. ---- Who else but the market should decide the price? Price regulations always result in a flourishing black market what is most of the market in crypto. Binding it to fiat money is dangerous, cause they also tend to crash.. ---basic income for business---- Are the businesses also given money? I do not see any adv
  22. Hi there felixlm, welcome to the freicoin alliance forum. I did not get every detail in your plan, but as someone that already build a basic income on the blockchain (Worldleadcurrency - that was active 2 years before grantcoin started.) the hardest part is to get a critical mass of users to get a system going. As soon as this happens there could be further ideas to be developed. That should be more effective than the other way around. There have been extensive ideas to get a basic income involved in freicoin and all the economic implications possible. What i see is that basic income
