Very good question. I never did it, but @jtimon said they already started.

The configure --with-incompatible-bdb was doing Ok on my server though it gave the error that something was wrong with serialize.h in line 789 during compiling..

So, Acurus wrote that 0.9 is ready for testing and i tried to compile on Lubuntu.
First it has no makefile unix to compile, so i coppied it from freicoin 0.8 - it started to compile but give me an error:
    In file included from net.h:18:0,
                     from alert.cpp:9:
util.h:102:2: error: #error missing boost sleep implementation
after i uncommented the error in "inline void MilliSleep(int64_t n)" in line 102 in util.h ( the error:
No rule to make target obj/bitcoinrpc.o  obj/leveldb.o
comes up. i had that error earlier, so this is maybe not connected to the update..

Rik8119 got a reaction from Skaro in 3 more weeks until initial issuance is complete
Hi, nice to see movement around here.
I could write a long text to cover all the things that are discussed here, but as @Skaro said we all have a life and not only FRC, so i will write a short summary of my priorities:
    Short term (before anything else):
Reintroduce tithe ratio to have funds for social purpose.
    Short term:
Introduce a distribution mechanism for the funds (most likely a citizen dividend)

If those two points are filled we have achieved a lot. Centralization is a problem for bitcoin because its decentralized structure makes is slow and needs a high consents in the community for changes, that to a huge extend could be blocked by miners. That makes it slow but also resistant to attacks.
When you have a centralized organization it could change fast but is not as resilient. The thing is to find a golden way because some centralization is needed for social projects.
So in my eyes it could make sense to implement another mining method. A mix of POS/POW seems to be the most convenient way (there are examples and it doesn't give too much value to POS as POS is still viewed critical by many devs).
One thing should be very clear: If i'll be part of the development team or not, even the change to POS/POW could take a year development/discussion procedure, so we should be very clear of what we actually need.
@Arcurus I do not understand how a 2. lvl layer for mining works, so i have to look into it as well..

looks like some 1000% in less than one month. But still very low volume. I really hope that we bring the coin distribution to run

Gentlemen, we broke the 300 level on CoinMarketCap, We are ranked at 292. This rating always fluctuates, but this is a benchmark in Freicoin's new life. At the last trade, FRC was at 0.00000190 BTC.

Yes we would need a hardfork to provide a sustainable budget. I'm all for it since years.

HI, sorry for bringing up the topic of the opening post. but i have a question to you fellow freicoiners:
I think that it is very important for a system to be sustainable. This is why i fixed the miner/budget ratio in Solidar. In Freicoin we have now the situation that all mined coins go to the miners. Its not that i don't want them to run a profit but in times when the foundation is less active this could lead to an unnecessary price decrease. As the inflow/outflow in these time would still be the same it shouldn't mean less profits but a higher price and that would decrease the volatility. My main concern about Freicoin atm is that it has no sustainable structure.
To fix it we would need a hard fork from the devs, what do you think?

    Hi Rik,
yes we don't need donation matching, we could distribute the coins directly to people. The donation matching was just a workaround with the current issuing. I don't think airdrops are a good solution, they don't solve any problem in a sustainable way.
I would prefer to give people a steady amount of coins per time period. This would encourage long term use of the coin and long term fair money distribution.

the current plan is to use the infrastructure from Freiexchange to give out coins directly to people. Fedde has already all the code for verifying phone per sms.
He just needs some time to clean up thinks. He then wants to talk to maaku to get direct coins for the giveaway. If it functions, we have more arguments to make it permanent and  use some part of the block reward.

of course i was just thinking that an airdrop has a huge pr effect and to sustain an ongoing payment we definitely need the hard fork to distribute mining rewards to the foundation funds..

Ok, it is not exactly like fiat money. But i see what is happening today and lay it on this model. If there is a monthly inflation in prices of 1%, the prices are rounded to the next higher cent. 1.05,- would end up as 1.07.- not 1.06.-. For small businesses this makes no big change but for large it makes a real difference. So as fast rising prices are too confusing for most people and the big corporations will profit more. The result is inequality and rising prices that are slowly eating up the basic income like inflation in fiat money slowly dissolves loans.
Summarized: Using inflation to redistribute wealth is just not working IMHO. We need an active approach like a wealth tax or - even better - just demurrage. Or a debt cut.

Can we look into the possibility of having Foundation funds and part of the transaction fees after initial dispensing of the coin to be LOANED out at 0% or at negative interest as micro credit for people in underdeveloped countries?

    Kiva style:  https://www.kiva.org/

Kiva Microfunds (commonly known by its domain name, Kiva.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization[2] that allows people to lend money via the Internet to low-income entrepreneurs and students in over 80 countries. Kiva's mission is “to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty.”

Maybe the explorer dosent calculate the transaction fees right?

But the good news is, apparently, Makku confirmed that the balances calculated for the foundation wallets were correct.
