Bicknellski got a reaction from Rik8119 in Future of Freicoin
Can we look into the possibility of having Foundation funds and part of the transaction fees after initial dispensing of the coin to be LOANED out at 0% or at negative interest as micro credit for people in underdeveloped countries?

Kiva Microfunds (commonly known by its domain name, Kiva.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization[2] that allows people to lend money via the Internet to low-income entrepreneurs and students in over 80 countries. Kiva's mission is “to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty.”

Bicknellski got a reaction from Skaro in Global Universal System
I think we are already trying to do that within the Freicoin Alliance. We are already committed to doing a number of projects using FRC. That is where I think I would spend my time. I don't think we need to add more complexity to what we already have. We need to work on FRC and the things we already have in place.
I invite anyone who wants to add to FRC to join us in our effort. We in the FRC Alliance are keen on working towards Universal Income and we have as a key point in our plans. But to do that we need a viable coin. FRC needs an active pool, exchange, forum and needs to be listed for it to have any hope of success and getting more people using FRC. I hope you join us since FRC demurrage really is all we need to work towards a more equitable world. Demurrage currency has worked in the past. We can make it work now with help.

My aim is Zero poverty as well. FRC can help with that aim I am certain.
Without interest money will circulate. Freicoin is the way.

Colony Beta Overview
The Colony Beta is for teams who want to create their own “Collaboration Network”—a place to work with, incentivize, and track the contributions of a network of collaborators. It combines task management with “payments” and tracking.

Bicknellski got a reaction from Skaro in 64 Bit Wallet for Windows
Now... what is weird is this.
I had some sort of 400K FRC short fall when I put the keys into the new wallet (got new wallet installed) and then I had a blockchain error reported by the wallet and then yesterday reinstalled the block chain from 0.
Result:
The lost coins reappeared.
Something funky going on from old wallet / chain to new wallet new chain with keys from pre fork time.
So Skaro... I am not sure what is going on. But something was not right how the new updated wallet was reading the old wallet.dat file and comparing that to the updates coming from the new forked chain. When I had to redownload the whole blockchain everything has worked out. The block explorer is not correct obviously. But it shows what was in the wallet when deposited but not the demurrage.
Your thoughts? I am pretty sure that is what you were explaining the error was in the inability of the data from old to new to be properly reconciled. So with the redownload forced it righted all the issues.
Fedde confirmed there is an issue with the demurrage being calculated properly on the block explorer. http://explorer.sicanet.net/ so we need to get that working properly as well.

What block height where you at before you changed wallets and after?
Did you loose money or are you just saying that the block explorer is incorrect?
What I understood was happening in installing the new wallet was that it was the only way for me to be on the correct blockchain (version 3) after the soft fork. Prior to the change, I was not receiving my mining payments and stuck in slow moving block numbers. So I did what you did, and everything went back to normal (actually there was a while when the whole network was out of sync). To test the version of block chain you have to check a block: getblock <hash>.
Skaro.

But yes. I:
1. backed up wallet, and exported private key;
2. Download and unzip New wallet;
3. Deleted Freicoin folder in Appdata (actually I did it a few times, I think you only have to delete the blockchain files);
4. Ran QT;
5. Installed private key;
6. Let in sync.
in my various attempts, I did find that the daemon worked better in step 4.
if you don't delete the blockchain you will have no different result. The point of the new wallet is to access the new blockchain of after soft fork.

When you talk about importing a private key, is that your old version electronic wallet or are you importing your paper wallet?

Bicknellski reacted to Skaro in [Fed&FAB] Official Thread
The Freicoin community has shrunk to very few active miners and people willing to contribute. The value of the currency is very low and it is difficult to justify spending large amounts of time on it. On the positive side, Freicoin is still considered as one of the innovative currencies. The developers are active with Bitcoin, Also, being small, it still a fun place to learn and the developers can implement new things. I'm planning on solo mining soon, for example.

Bicknellski reacted to fedde in Escrow service
Just popping in before xmas with a ideea.
Played abit with creating a multiplatform for both work as a frcjam / escrow service as it's not that hard to work out a working scheme to actually make it work.
But if i am going to do this, i will build a complete platform for Project funding, escrow and possible a very simple trade engine.
FreiExchange (frcjam,escrow and trading)
FRCJAM:
Create zero intrest loans. Possible with funding with frc, wlc, btc and cash? If btc/wlc/cash it would be automatic converted to FRC in platform to make some coins circluate. Payout in frc/btc?
Escrow:
As topic says, simple escrow service for user to user trades.
Trading:
Simple orderbook with buy/sells where users can buy and sell freicoins. Also market for jam cash/btc/wlc -> FRC conversion to fund the projects.
Attaching a simple possible look on the jam section. I have a lot of code laying around to construct into one platform.
Just air it as an ideea.

Bicknellski reacted to Rik8119 in Global Universal System
Hi here are some of my questions:
----I'm quite against the idea of bitcoin or friecoin using a fixed amount of currency and let market decide the value. Especially its very prompt for founders/investor to hog huge % of the currency, or mining to create new coins. ----
Who else but the market should decide the price? Price regulations always result in a flourishing black market what is most of the market in crypto. Binding it to fiat money is dangerous, cause they also tend to crash..
---basic income for business----
Are the businesses also given money? I do not see any advantages here
---Combined income will be open to investors or banks etc to fund loans required.----
Additional to the BI there are loans for investors and banks given?
Thanks again.

Bicknellski reacted to Rik8119 in Global Universal System
Hi there felixlm,
welcome to the freicoin alliance forum. I did not get every detail in your plan, but as someone that already build a basic income on the blockchain (Worldleadcurrency - that was active 2 years before grantcoin started.) the hardest part is to get a critical mass of users to get a system going. As soon as this happens there could be further ideas to be developed. That should be more effective than the other way around.
There have been extensive ideas to get a basic income involved in freicoin and all the economic implications possible. What i see is that basic income has a very vague community and most of them still think that it can be applied in fiat money, what is ridiculous looking at the momentous power structures associated with fiat money (Central Banks, Hedgefonds etc.).
And to me Grantcoin is a nice project but it is just fiat money with a basic income. And as far as the theory for freicoin is considered it will lead to ever rising prices, that will again give advantages to big cooperations.
I do not understand all what you have planed but to get as many users as possible my impression is to make it as simple as possible.
To a UBI with Freicoin: Many here on the board are thinking about it, BUT as Freicoin has no sustainable supply for a basic income (all new coins go to miners now) it would run out of funds soon. The idea behind Freicoin is demurrage, not UBI. If it would be UBI it would be designed in a complete other way - much more like my coin.
Another thing to consider: The intersection between blockchain and UBI is very small and most of the actors involved have their own ideas how to get started. And as the interest often falls down during economic more stable times, it is important to keep the core functions managable with a low personal intervention. If a currency want to include these ideas and many of those people (multiplier) than it again has to be simple.
So, what exactly are your milestones, what is your plan. How to get a community?
