3 more weeks until initial issuance is complete
Bicknellski and one other reacted to Rik8119 for a topic
1+2. The attempt to promote the coin is indeed pointess when you have close to zero support from any dev. That is why i started WLC which has merge mining included and the association % payout to redistribute the coin is fixed for all times plus it is much easier to keep a currency alive and on an exchange when you can influence its development. FRC sure still has a role to play during the next (even bigger) financial crisis but it has no sustainable redistribution mechanism, what makes the demurrage useless in my eyes. 3. You said it: These are only features, there is nothing completely2 points -

3 more weeks until initial issuance is complete

The current block height is 160755. By my calculation that's 3,085 blocks (about 3 weeks) until the initial issuance of 100M freicoins is fully played out. That is also when the coinbase blocks stop including foundation outputs. Time to organize a celebration?1 point -
This reminded me, in conjunction with the Skaro's mention/question of possible attack... Ye guys happened to see the coins "recovered" from Cryptsy? FRC not listed... "High value" coins: Other coins: *edit: Too bad them block explorers aint working (and I dont have mi notes at hand)... but if I recall correctly, Cryptsy held around 2million coins? *edit2: Source for the pics: https://steemit.com/crypto-news/@steempower/court-documents-reveal-that-cryptsy-liquidators-intend-to-market-sell-seized-coins1 point

Anyone know whats going on with Vircurex? It says it is under heavy load, for the past few days. thanks, Skaro1 point

Well it does seem to me that Freicoin has a few attributes that other slowly dying currencies don't have. Firstly, in many books on crypto currencies it's listed as one of the more innovative and interesting coins because of the demurrage concept. Second, it has a socialist anti-speculator sentiment that is popular these days. Also, because of the demurrage fee and the value of the coin, it seems to me that the fondation has no interest in holding funds either. So There is motivation to move that currency. Of course one cannot deny there is only one mining pool, 4 regular miners, and mo1 point

Yes that is correct and the foundation with the tiny community need to address that very issue as has been mentioned many times in many other posts. Problem being with just a handful of miners and only 1 or 2 on the foundation things will not be done in the best interest of 1000's of potential future users. Then again the coin is dead at this point anyhow so I am not sure if any of this really matters if we can't get more users. 1. I was of the opinion that besides demurrage we were going to see new features that would make FRC more interesting to a wider range of users, but nothing has mov1 point -
It seems to me, with the issuance of the coins complete and little circulation of currency, the demurrage process will effectively transfer the money from the foundation (and any other people holding large number of freicoins) to the miners. Since only the miners can get the new coins but will also loose coins, eventually all the money would be distributed amongst miners according to their hashing power. That would take about 13 years for 50% of the funds to move and 60 years for 95% of the funds to move to the miners. Its really just another issuance process.1 point

Ok now time to make the coin useful. We just had to use BTC instead of FRC to make a micro loan possible and we just paid off the micro loan in BTC. I would prefer using FRC but that is nearly impossible. There are zero exchanges and only a handful of miners. Sadly I don't know how much more we need to do to get real traction on FRC with users but this issuance seem to be a hollow benchmark when we have a small number of of people actually using FRC. The coins we hold right now are for all intents and purposes worthless.1 point -

And we have shipped the 50 boxes of the big order so we will continue working hard to clear that order this week and next. So that should get us very close to our goal of breaking even on the Chocolate School training and we will once we clear these orders we will repay the loan in full to you guys on or about the first week of December.1 point -

Big order just came in. 600 Pralines to be delivered by this Sunday, November the 13th. Ugh... that means my wife and I will be doing some extra work to fulfill the order as we can't expect our students to work full time on pralines obviously. We will have the students do some in afternoon. From this order we should have enough to repay the whole loan early. In about 2 weeks. I will update next week.1 point -

Orders are all filled. We are now shipping them. Loan Repayment: We will be ready to make a +50% (or more) loan repayment by December or January. We have made about 800.000Rp so far, although this not even close to half the total loan it is good start and we are confident we will see an increase in orders for December / January time frame. Also Note: We will be shifting production from our fall flavors to Holiday, Christmas and New Year flavors. These are slight variations on the originals and some completely new flavors. 4 Chocolate Bars: Milk Chocolate Dark Chocolate1 point -
The problems at Vircurex and Fed&Fab pool seem to have occurred at the same time. Coincidence or an attack?1 point

Nope no idea, i hope everyone got their coins secure? I think i had only a few thousand still sitting there, unlike the 150k FRC i lost on cryptsy. Rik1 point

1. Brochure. I will pass along the "balance" suggested edit to the kids and see what they think. We printed only a test number at the moment and looking for a better printer in the area. We took a number of photos and the pictures are off balanced just to include the shadow. The lighting was terrible that time of day. Maybe we need to do more pictures with more light. 2. Website / Payment Gateways. Yes it is a great idea if we have time and interest. Again in a Montessori environment the students will not be told or instructed to do something. I will suggest it and get their feedback to see1 point -
"Debt; the first 5.000 years" Very good book indeed. I read it end of last year. But he is not into demurrage. He prefers the debt cut at certain points of history. Maybe he never heard of demurrage which is much better because of the stable redustribution of wealth. The hour is a very good measure for work because it is universal! Also used by the minuto initiative. I totally agree with that measurement. Rik1 point
