Fabrizio reacted to Arcurus in Project - More Exchanges for FRC
I agree with using more of the new exchanges like askcoin. But as said, as long as we dont bringt more usecases to Freicoin there will most likely be not that much trades.
Here I outlined some usecases. In a way they are all ready to test, so feel free to engage!

Fabrizio reacted to CaptainPugwash in Project - More Exchanges for FRC
After I noticed Bluetrade listed FRC I checked the live trades of FRC. Not a great number of trades or volume. For all the hard work from everyone that goes into getting FRC listed I think we all need to ensure we spread our FRC trades accross the exchanges that list FRC.
Most exchanges will remove a coin if the trade volume is not high enough. I have started to spread my FRC trading onto Bluetrade to try and get some volume.
Currently I use Cryptsy and now Bluetrade, I won't use Vicurex as I lost some coins a while back and don't trust them.
A list of active exchanges would help me try to get my trades spread accross some active exchages.

We could do a article like on the frontpage for the mining pools with the lists of exchanges that accept freicoin and keep it updatet + add entry in the top menu under tools.

Not sure if this is relevant?
If you are looking to use a seperate domain I have www.freicoinnews.com. I would be happy to donate the domain FOC to anyone who wants to use it to setup a new site or downloading wallets or anything else needed for Freicoin.
My only stipulation is that the domain must be used for the good of Freicoin

Fabrizio reacted to Bicknellski in CMS Solar Genset, Tracker and Ebike Project
Here is our next project plan at CMS for Indonesia that we have started working on.
Mission: Provide a prototype for a portable solar array for rural or remote areas in Indonesia that have underserviced / overly expensive electrical infrastructure.
1. Develop a prototype of the a portable solar array.
2. Share the design and build process with local NGO's in Indonesia.
3. Gather donations to help prototyping and support a train the trainers program to have local trainers spread the design and build throughout Indonesia.
Creative Commons Design: SOLN1 v3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Y5TvWpWoQ#t=109
SOLN1 v3
Our first solar 50W panel. We bought it used for 250,000 Rp. This will be the base of the portable solar power generator.

maybe time to get rid of the facebook login:
maybe time to get rid of facebook at all
"The social network relies on its SSO (Single Sign-On) to follow the movement of users. SSO allows you to use your Facebook credentials on third-party websites and apps. When you do this, Facebook is watching, following, and cataloging your destination points. This data drives, to a degree, what ads turn up on your Facebook news feed. Maybe you’ve noticed."

Fabrizio got a reaction from Arcurus in Suppressed technology
Yup, healthy amount of skepticism is always good to have, since certainly there is a lot of elaborate hoaxes out there.. especially in youtube
However, to me it sounds there is something to few of the tech... some of these inventors have apparently filed patents, but then just been "taken down" or sabotaged/harassed out of the scene by the big power companies or governments. Some patent filings has gotten rejected, since there were already similar patents out there from decades ago, held by these big corps (usually oil companies). Few of them inventors have also died in.. shady, to say the least.. circumstances
Bet then... some of this tech seems to be in use nowdays.
Here's one that's been used by todays tech giants:

Fabrizio reacted to Skirmant in Suppressed technology
I like to remain skeptical when it comes to these kind of technologies (except the solar panels, but it's hard to call them suppressed). For centuries there have been snake oil salesmen creating half-assed 'inventions', luring in investors and running away with the money when the truth is revealed. This especially the case for free energy generators that break the laws of thermodynamics. Think of it like altcoins that make unrealistic promises and then collapse leaving you holding the bag
The best approach is to get these things be reviewed by a diverse group of experts, so proper conclusions could be made.

Fabrizio reacted to Arcurus in [Claim-Example] Alpha Test Example - Micro Loan Claim
Actually, I think, that in the beginning we should also allow to claim other zero interest loans, as long as they are transparent and fitting to the values of freieconomy. So in a way it would not matter much how many Freicoins the loan was, it would matter how many Freihours the loan was.
In this case, the loan was given in Dollar, luckily Dollars are currently very easy to translate to Freihours just bei dividing thorugh 10
If maybe in future the loan is directly payed back over the Micro Loan Programm, then we could just match the Freicoins when the loan was payed back.
Or we could match the loan when it was given. In this case we would have to trust, that the loan is according to the freicoin vlaues.
But I think this would be acceptable if the loan is very small and / or if the loan parties are known / trusted.
Therefore I would suggest, that it is important when the loan was claimed, as long as the loan amount could be messured in Freihours is should not matter when it was claimed.

Fabrizio got a reaction from Skirmant in Oh dear
Oh dear indeed..
Like Skirmant says, deception is an effective way to keep people misguided. It has been a strategy by "the powers that be" for centuries, if not millenniums, and for a good reason; it works.
Divide and conquer, like they say.
So.. the thing that raises the "Oh dear" feeling for me in that clip.. is the portrayal of the media manipulation as a new phenomena. Theres some other manipulative wordings and phrases in it too :/
Haha, though, then again its no wonder theres misguiding there when you check the broadcasting company behind the serie... BBC
Controlled opposition..
I also kinda agree with Arcurus, but kinda not. Politics can be understood broadly, so I guess it depends how one defines "politics". I'd like to think people can live together without the need for politics, just by agreeing to live by certain rules in that certain area/community where they are located
But then! When you think about what makes these kinds of broad deceptions possible, is indeed the fact that its too complicated and time consuming for common folks to find out "the truth" about something done behind ~closed doors. Blockchain technology is starting to offer solutions to this, which is really exciting! ^^

Fabrizio reacted to Arcurus in [Alliance] Freihour - For unit of account - Discussion
yea, we can start with something easy to calculate the dollar inflation
By the way, am currently reading Debt; the first 5.000 years
He shows, that it is just not true, that before money there was barter.
Instead he showed, that before money was there, debt was there.
And people just used some unit of account to count the debt in.
By the way, Terra would have been a great name for Freicoin...
-
Fabrizio reacted to jtimon in [Alliance] Freihour - For unit of account - Discussion
Bravo Arcurus!
The unit of the future is a global index rather than an actual currency. And Freicoin doesn't need to be a good unit of account to be a great medium of exchange and cheap currency in lending terms.
We've talked about similar concepts before under names like GRU (Global Reference Unit) or TRU (Trade Reference Unit, inspired in Bernard Lietaer's Terra or Trade Reference Currency).
I talked to Thomas Greco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_H._Greco,_Jr. ) about this and he had the same idea long ago, and tried to convince Lietaer that an index rather than an actual "backed" currency it's what's needed.
An index can contain any number of commodities or even services in its basket because you don't have to store them to "back" a currency.
Given a basket formula and a set of markets APIs that the formula is based on, it is quite trivial to create a converter from TRU to any actual currency like FRC, BTC, USD, EUR, etc.
So the challenge is to actually chose the markets and their weighs in the TRU formula.
In FreiHours' case, there's only one "market" you have to look at. I assume you're thinking about using the federal reserve official inflation statistics. Many people claim they're quite manipulated (see http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-chartsfor example), but that would be something simple to start the experiment and it is still more stable than the USD itself by definition.
We could make a bounty for the converter once the the FreiHours index is more formally defined.
