    Holidays??? Whats that?
Is this something like I work for something I don't want to do, so that I then can do what I do think I want to do in some few days in the year and then be that exhausted, that I cannot really enjoy what I really want to do? Who invented such strange things?

And how on earth managed Coca-cola to take over Christmas and bring the red color to it?

And why so many people put an innocent living tree in their house instead of just enjoying the real thing outside?

Ok, I better let it for the Conspiracy Corner

But I really love the calm atmosphere in the winter days after all the run is over.

Yes I am interested in caretaking the micro loan program.

Our students are very keen on seeing how we can create a way for local school aged children or families to get help so they can start businesses and help their children get higher levels of education.

I did not google myself, but you will see me as the guy who jumps into things with both feet and stays there usually until things work. There is never a problem, you just need to find a way around it.

This brought my eyes up for Freicoin as it's different from most coins out there. It gives us a task to make people familiar to use the coin and this community shows the strength to do it. It gives user like me the fun back in projects to use a new type of payment in the applications without going through the big banks.

I belive the community here can move mountains once we really get this train moving!

    All the best!

Would it be an idea to have a thread or subforum called Website Suggestions or similar? I just had a hard time figuring out a proper thread to suggest making the main navigation into a 'sticky menu' that remains on top of the page as you scroll down. I don't remember if this is an option in IPBoard, but WP has it as an option I think, at least the theme I used. Is there some system of widgets or similar?

Here an important discussion how we want to proceed with the micro loan project:

    Important questions are:
Do we want to support these with donation matching?
Does that fit the Mission Statement of the Freicoin Foundation?
Do we want to extent it to ethical investments?

Bicknellski got a reaction from Arcurus in Freicoin Alliance will support payments / investments / donations in Freicoin.
As an Idea initially posted in the Freicoin Community Forums by Arcurus:

What would really help to boost Freicoin is if the Alliance would support payments / investments / donations in Freicoin.

In the beginning this could look like that:

The Freicoin Alliance (or a project to handle this) is registered on the Freicoin web for donation matching.

In the beginning instead of directly paying, one pays to this registered project, the project then pays to the payment provider (or shop). After the donation matching (or even before if the project has some reserve Freicoins), the buyer gets the matched Freicoins. 50% of the matched Freicoins go to an registered non profit on the choice of the user. To be fair the extra Freicoins per user are limited (users are allowed to group up). Later on the paying could be directly done over an payment provider if the payment provider cooperates. The same procedure could also apply for investments and donations, even to non Freicoin accepting NGOs
This could be advertised like: Pay / invest or donate in Freicoin and get 5% Freicoins back and 5% to an registered non profit of your choice! *
Also proxy payments and donations to Bitcoin businesses and NGOs are supported at an reduced rate (up to 3%) and 3% to an registered non profit of your choice!

*to guarantee fairness the maximal payment amount per user will be be limited.

This could really boost Freicoins especially if the donation matching would be increased to 50%.

    Imagine that:

This could be advertised like: Pay / invest or donate in Freicoin and get up to 25% Freicoins back and up to 25% to an registered non profit of your choice!*
Also proxy payments and donations to Bitcoin businesses and NGOs are supported at an reduced rate (up to 15%) and up to 15% to an registered non profit of your choice!

This could really boost Freicoin like anything!

And because it could be limited per user it could be really fair!

    Just as an idea.

    All the good,

    Arcurus

I like that people get worked up about it. But really this conspiracy can be broken if we just have better education so that students and families eat better and make better choices. It is great to have the tinfoil hat conspiracy people beating the gmo / food industry drum to a point.

Low carb no carb Atkins was truly an amazing period. I was able to really concentrate once my system was free of the overload of sugar based foods. I am not on it now and I know it affects my weight and my health negatively.

No so much a conspiracy as the reality.

Here is a really good way to look this food issue.

Go to your supermarket and try and shop for things that do not have added sugar.

That pretty much cuts out almost 70% of the foods in the supermarket.

Then look for slow foods. Foods that are fresh and unfrozen or would require you to prepare the food to eat.

Then look for foods that are from your area.

It is pure insanity the food system.

Heart disease / Diabetes alone are killing more people every year than anything else.

    http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs312/en/

    Key facts Diabetes
347 million people worldwide have diabetes* (1). In 2012, an estimated 1.5 million deaths were directly caused by diabetes (2). More than 80% of diabetes deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries (3). WHO projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030 (4). Healthy diet, regular physical activity, maintaining a normal body weight and avoiding tobacco use can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs317/en/

    Key Facts CVD
CVDs are the number one cause of death globally: more people die annually from CVDs than from any other cause (1). An estimated 17.3 million people died from CVDs in 2008, representing 30% of all global deaths(1). Of these deaths, an estimated 7.3 million were due to coronary heart disease and 6.2 million were due to stroke (2). Low- and middle-income countries are disproportionally affected: over 80% of CVD deaths take place in low- and middle-income countries and occur almost equally in men and women (1). The number of people who die from CVDs, mainly from heart disease and stroke, will increase to reach 23.3. million by 2030 (1,3). CVDs are projected to remain the single leading cause of death (3). Most cardiovascular diseases can be prevented by addressing risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and obesity, physical inactivity, high blood pressure, diabetes and raised lipids. 9.4 million deaths each year, or 16.5% of all deaths can be attributed to high blood pressure (4). This includes 51% of deaths due to strokes and 45% of deaths due to coronary heart disease (5). ----

Personally I have actually gone on a diet that cut out most of this and I have to say it changed my ability to concentrate and think clearly.

BLOCKSTREAM CLOSES $21 MILLION SEED FUNDING TO FULFILL THE “PROMISE OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY”By Inside Bitcoins  Nov 17, 2014 2:58 PM EST

NEW YORK (InsideBitcoins) — Blockstream, a firm dedicated to developing “Bitcoin 2.0″ applications based on the cryptocurrency’s blockchain technology, has closed a $21 million seed round. The company, co-founded by Austin Hill, Adam Back and nine associates, gained the funding from high-profile entrepreneurs — including some of the biggest names in technology.

“Our nearly 40 investors include many well-known pioneers of the Internet and financial services sectors,” Hill wrote today on the Blockstream blog. “The round was led by Reid Hoffman, Khosla Ventures and Real Ventures, with investments from Nicolas Berggruen, Crypto Currency Partners, Future\Perfect Ventures, Danny Hillis, Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors, Max Levchin, Mosaic Ventures, Ray Ozzie, Ribbit Capital, Jerry Yang’s AME Cloud Ventures and several others. The reason we were able to attract A-list investors is our group of founders and the promise of blockchain technology.”

Blockchain is working on projects including:
Smart contracts, legal agreements that are executed on the blockchain public ledger, eliminating the need for lawyers and the exchange of signed documents. Equities trading without centralized exchanges, where users can buy and sell public stock in companies through a peer-to-peer system without brokers. Sidechains, a method of developing parallel public ledgers – blockchains – which allows the creation of new applications on a common platform without modifying bitcoin’s core operational code.

“The blockchain creates the possibility of trustless trust.”
Reid Hoffman, a lead investor, best known as the co-founder of LinkedIn and former COO of PayPal, expressed his enthusiasm for the deal:

“For me, Bitcoin is a transformative addition to Internet communication protocols that will create new networks of trust, fuel massive economic ecosystems, and create enduring long-term value,”

    Hoffman wrote on LinkedIn.

“The blockchain creates the possibility of trustless trust. Parties no longer need to know or trust each other to participate in exchanges of value with absolute assurance and no intermediaries. The blockchain protocol doesn’t just enable the trustless exchange of bitcoins. It enables the trustless exchange of any kind of digital asset – domain name signatures, digital contracts, digital titles to physical assets like cars and houses.”
