some feedback to the new website:
I would focus on the first page on the registration to the universal dividend.
Just look at google, keep it simple and focus on the most important.
What we want is sign ups!
I would also add a counter on the signed up people, thats what we want to increase
I would also describe the basic data, like coins in circulation, coins given out in UD last month, UD per month.

Hi all, me is the one from Italy collaborating with Rik8119 to enhance the Solidar website
It's from the start I know Freicoin and in the past I translated the documentation into italian, that unfortunately seems to be lost
Me also I'm a developper of an economic system called FAZ (Financial Autonomous Zone) based on demurrage and basic income, but it's...analogic! I mean is not blockchain based, it's a financial system based on negative rate corporate bonds, issued as currency. Here's the documentation of our project in english:  https://financialautonomouszone.wordpress.com/english/

well, I started selling something in Solidar, for now two of my books "Faz" at price 0,40 Solidar + 2 euro for sending, and Interview about economy at price 0,35 Solidar + 2 euro for sending. The first cost's in euro 14,90 and the second € 11,90. That is the article on my site https://domenicods.wordpress.com/2017/10/21/acquistare-un-mio-libro-con-il-solidar/ and I added a push on my facebook page for buying.

Hi @Domenico, sorry for the confusion. The first Solidar is payed as a welcome gift. Then there will be payed 10 Solidar for every active month (Check Balance or receive Solidar). Predictions about the price are very Dangerous. Although Solidar should be very stable as it is defined by the real market activities there are incredible money ressources in cryptocurrencies that could Flood the Market or be withdrawn within days. The 10 Solidar is again only a start to motivate the early adopters. If the bot users will increase above 30000 the income would shrink accordingly. Meaning with 30000 - 60000 participants the Solidar income is 5 coins per month and so on. This should help to keep the price more stable although it gives the early adopters an advantage. What is wanted because the early one do Most of the work and risky stuff.
I Hope I answered your question? There are explanatory Videos Planned but my free time is a little Bit Limited at the Moment.

    Hi all,
As I said in another post, we wish to strongly publicize Solidar in Italy. We started informing the members of FAZ network and the followers of @Domenico de Simone  the economist which firstly theorized our system and co-founder with me of the FAZ network. In the middle of 2018 we hope to start a project in an italian local district, with the support of an enterprises' network that will accept it in payment and hopefully with the endorsement and support of Municipalites that will accept it in payment for local taxes.
Our deal in these months is to enhance as much as possible the number of Solidar Facebook bot page subscribers to present the local project as one already existing with real people using Solidar. To address this deal, in the next weeks I will translate to italian the website and the Solidar bot.
To better explain to italian subscribers how the Solidar works, in the next days me and  @Domenico de Simone will ask some economic and technical questions.
    Thanks for now.

Because the Solidar bot is an important part of Solidar, for anybody wondering I wanna give a short outlook here what it is planned to be in the future.

    1. The Solidar bot willbe a fully working web wallet sending, receiving and managing funds.
    2. it is planned to integrate merchant functionallity -> add comments for transactions to verify payments.
    3. integrate a interface for merchants to receive informations about incoming payments.
    4. 10k messages are free after that facebook will contact with further instructions maybe then will be a good time to contact facebook about a basic income.
    5. contact facebook to integrate solidar further- more public visibility and untegration with facebook related payments.
    6. get mark zuckerberg to support solidar as he already advocated for a basic income.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
It's been a while since I posted here. My apologies. I've been quite busy getting a proposal for MAST implemented and reviewed, which is exciting in its own right [0,1]. I now have a bit more free time to devote to freicoin in the coming months.
Back in September we agreed to wind down the foundation and to burn the left over funds after finishing the remaining charitable matches. I pulled out the donation matching code and started updating it to work with the current versions of its dependencies. However there was one snag that caught me by surprise: the script expects the foundation keys to be loaded into the wallet of the node it uses, meaning that testing of the script requires a hot wallet of the foundation funds. I'd forgotten that watch-wallet support wasn't added to bitcoind until 0.10. So for safety reasons, as leaking this key material would be devastating, I'm working on the freicoind rebase right now instead.
Rebasing to higher versions of the upstream bitcoind is made significantly easier in theory by the prior per-input value truncation soft-fork we deployed in the last release. In practice however we need to do a big chunk of work to refactor the freicoin patches to make use the simpler approach this allows, and then we will see the gains. I'm working on that right now, switching the code for the latest official release to use input truncation and taking advantage of the patch size reduction that allows before rebasing to more recent versions of bitcoind. I am also getting the upstream gitian build process working for freicoin rather than the custom solution I had been using in prior releases. I'll make a new post when these refactored and rebased releases are ready for testing and review.
Also I have one more announcement: there will not be official support (from me) of Freicoin-Qt going forward, and it will not be included in the official release binaries. I'm sorry, but maintenance of GUI wallet takes a lot of time and I have limited resources to devote. Hopefully someone else is able to take up this burden and we can re-add support for it. But even if no one does, the reference wallet remains accessible from the command line and RPC, which is what services need, and consumer wallets are maintained by the Freicoin Alliance (Android and Electrum I believe?). One of the reasons for this is that I want to devote time to support hardware wallets, using the Ledger Nano S platform, so there is that benefit That project is waiting until the rebase to current bitcoin core is complete however.
    Onwards and upwards!

Arcurus got a reaction from Bicknellski in [Draft] How we could use demurrage fees as transaction fees and what benefits this would bring - Soft Fork
How we could use demurrage fees as transaction fees and what benefits this would bring:

Theoretically it would be possible to use the demurrage fee as transaction fee.
    This could look like this:
In an given block a part* of the block-reward is assigned to transactions as additional paid fee*** according to how much demurrage they pay (similar to coin age the transaction destroys).
This could be implemented as soft fork.
This would help also to reduce that transactions get stuck because of not paying enough fees.
As benefit this would also increase temporally the block reward and therefore attract more mining power** if more transactions need to be confirmed, and lower the reward if less transactions need to be confirmed. This would therefore increase the blocktime on days where lot of transactions need to be confirmed and reduce on days when less transactions need to be confirmed. As side effect this would increased the capacity in case of need and reduce in case of not need, and therefore balance out the transaction fees (more easy to calculate).

    * the more Freicoin is used the higher this percentage could be
    * in practice the exact in this way assigned block reward should be averaged over a longer time period like 2 weeks
    * it would be good to use the log(demurrage) instead of demurrage for this distribution, this would benefit users that transact regularly.
** only if in competition for mining power with other coins
***  it could be good practice to distribute the fees over the next X lets say 10 blocks, so that an individual miner has not much benefit in creating more transactions to get more fees then other miners.

@Skaro currently in Freicoin the demurrage fee is not used as transaction fee.
Therefore yes users would have to pay more transaction fees if in the future Freicoin is widely used and the block limit stays similar to Bitcoin Core.

The old one looks too complicated and detailed. You loose the impression at a distant glance. I would drop the 3d and shading on the S. Keep the S in brighter color. Add the new handshake in the background and drop the blue and red swirl around the outer ring. Drop 3d and shadow on the ring too. I would keep the S just a teeny bit more elegant ( like as if it drawn with an ink pen or a quill . It brings movement to it). Use black outline but drop black background. Consider light colours and outline with darker ones. Thank you!

Arcurus reacted to Domenico de Simone in Worgl 2.0 - A city based project in Italy
Thanks to Magius for introducing me in this topic, and thanks to everybody for appreciating and helping.
A necessary premise, is that in this moment there is in Italy a growing debate about complementary currencies and there are several proposals by political parties. The matter is that the most of this people doesn't have any idea about what they are talking, but it's the mode and so everybody must say it's opinion. The other problem is that the Faz Project is based on a theory, and for understand deeply it's working way you must to study a bit, maybe some more than a bit. The most of people, including economist and politicians, like better easy slogans to hard studies. Anyway, the aim of the project is to realize a society in which is possible to give everybody a basic income and to finance economy without interest and debt. It seems a dream but it is scientifically possible. In our project isn't necessary State or any Public administration to participate. The project that we are building in an town of South Italy is founded on a Association of a certain number of enterprises (the most are very little business) and citizens. We found out an organization of 400 business, and for starting are enough, who constitute an Association and a "Consorzio per azioni", a kind of corporate syndication in which every member cannot have more than a little number of shares. The Corporate issue the bonds at negative tax rate ( f.e. ten per cent each year) so that the nominal debt disappear up the time scheduled in the issuing. Those bonds are virtual, as all bonds, and are subscribed by the association that distributes them among the members according to defined technical criteria. A bond issuing at negative tax rate is perfectly legal and doesn't create debt, because the value at the end of the period is almost zero. The members may use those bonds and fraction of them for payment in the community. The idea is to create a rechargeable card in which is possible to have simultaneously the bond and the normal currency, so that the payment may be done using both values. For a certain time (probably a long time), the business can sell their product in Euros and bond, f.e. 50% each. That's because there are many goods that is necessary to buy out of the community, but anyway this means that the most of people may double they spending power. The theory of the project is in our web sites. The project doesn't have boundaries, everybody in the world may participate, even if it starts as a local project and in the beginning the concrete exchanges may occur in the area. Faz is the acronym of Financial Autonomous Zone, and the idea is to build several communities all around the world. After a certain period (not so long) the issuing system is automatic so the project doesn't need a governance. Members are pushed to have cooperative behavior, because it is clear that this is the best way to meet their own selfishness.
It would be very interesting to apply the Freicoin /Solidar for the project. We need of course a program for system management, and it isn't easy to built.
Thank for your cooperation and understanding.

Arcurus reacted to Mark Friedenbach in Future of Freicoin
It's time to re-start this thread. As mentioned in another thread, I've been professionally busy non-stop for some months on a couple of different projects. That is currently slated to change with my new responsibilities including the maintenance of the Elements codebase, which includes most of the new features we would like to add to Freicoin. So there's a little bit of double-dipping there. Plus since I'll be traveling less and working normal hours I'll be able to spend 8-10 hours a week, evenings and weekends, working on the basic plan outlined at the top of this thread.
So let's revisit this thread. We did back-port some consensus bug fixes to the freicoin client and issued a new release of the 0.8 node software in 2015. Also included in that release was a soft-fork that changed the rules for demurrage calculation, in a way that will potentially make the client easier to maintain. We have not made good on our promise to update the client to newer versions of upstream Bitcoin Core, and that will be my first priority. The soft-fork change to demurrage calculations means that a little bit of up-front work is required to re-write those patches, but afterwards the total maintenance cost should be reduced.
The call for testers still stands. We need to develop some sort of test plan for new releases that gives us some assurance we aren't releasing bad code. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Now looking at the specific features I suggested adding:
This is already in bitcoin, and will be in freicoin as soon as we upgrade the reference client to a more recent upstream version.
Likewise! Freicoin will get the same segwit that bitcoin is about to lock-in.
Still want this for Freicoin, but:
In the time since I wrote this, Jorge and I along with our co-workers and a partner company implemented confidential assets, which is an extension of confidential transactions that blinds the asset being transacted as well as the amount. This was a significant amount of work, and basically occupied 12-14 months of my professional career, as well as that of my colleagues.
Part of why my enthusiasm for bringing CT to Freicoin waned after writing the above words is that as soon as Andrew Poelstra invented the necessary crypto component to make confidential assets work, it became clear that we would want to wait until this new CA was finished. Proper asset support has always been an essential part of my vision for Freicoin as it is necessary to construct other forms of decentralized money (e.g. classic ripple) as well as interesting smart contracts.
Confidential assets was released this year, and made more polished in the last few months in preparation for the BC2 conference, where the necessary features for distributed exchanges were also written. It's now in a state where we can talk about brining it into production on Freicoin.
    This was Mimblewimble!
No, I'm not secretly Voldemort, nor does Voldie work at my employer as far as I'm aware. However we were working on some similar ideas for non-interactive CoinJoin using confidential transactions and one-way aggregatable signatures. Voldemort independently invented the same tricks, and to his/her credit realized that it allowed A LOT more than just non-interactive CoinJoin.
It also turns out that it doesn't have to be a hard-fork change, other than the introduction of confidential transactions itself. Mimblewimble can be implemented on Elements Alpha without any changes. However it does need some work to reconcile with confidential assets, so some basic research here might be required. It is however high priority research at my employer and I am hopeful that we can see production-ready results on a relatively short timeframe.

The only other features not mentioned here are a bunch of little improvements to bitcoin script that makes writing smart contracts much easier or allows more powerful contracts. That might be a good topic for another post. Many of these are already implemented in the elements codebase, but just need some review and testing before production use.

Finally, a word needs to be said about merged mining. In fact this deserves its own post and I will make one in time, but the short TL;DR is that Jorge and I differ on our views about this. Given what we have seen happen in the Bitcoin space with respect to mining, ASICBOOST, and segregated witness, I no longer have faith that SHA256 mining can be used to secure a high-value network. And as bad as the situation is for bitcoin, it would likely be even worse for a merged mined coin, as in practice merge mining sees higher rates of centralization. I think there is a strong argument for switching to a new proof of work entirely, one which is not ASIC resistant (that's a unicorn that doesn't exist), but rather tries to minimize the performance gap between high-end general compute ad specialized hardware. Cuckoo Cycle is an example of one such PoW algorithm. In any case, I'll post my thoughts regarding this in another thread.

I hope others are as excited about bringing these new features to Freicoin as I am. I think the applications that can be built on top will do a lot to bring utility to freicoin as a medium of exchange for a generally useful block chain platform.

Arcurus got a reaction from Victor in [Freirepublic] - The Freiinvest Project - Support Ethical Investments (suggestion)
    Hi all,
the "Freiinvest Project" is an non profit Freicoin Community driven project and part of the "The Frei-Republic / Frei-Economy Project".

The Frei-Republic / Frei-Economy Project is based on 5 columns to cover each aspect of Freicoin. Freiinvest is one column of it.

The main goal of Freiinvest is to propagate a "Common Good Based Economy" through encouraging cooperation, dezentralisation, sharing of knowledge and supporting a non harming fair economy through ethical investments.

The Freiinvest Project itself is focused on the ethical investment aspect.

    In short:
Participants of the Freiinvest Project can get up to 100%* of their Freicoin transaction value for verified common good / non profit projects on the participants choice for each investment** made in Freicoin!

Verified projects can be found here: Freicoin Foundation Web or Freicoin Alliance specific here: Freicoin Alliance.
Freiinvest itself is purely donation based and therefore dependent on your donations. Therefore please consider to donate some Freicoins to Freiinvest if you want help to propagate the Freiinvest Project.

If you just want to make an purchase, an donation or a zero interest micro loan you can use Freipay or the Micro Loan Project instead.

    * Out of technical reasons currently Freicoins that have been used already with Freiinvest are not supported and therefore get no matching.
    * To guarantee fairness the given amount per user / user Group can be limited.

    * The exact percentage is dependent on The Freicoin Foundation coin issuing and therefore is not in the hand of The Freiinvest Project .
Only the Freiinvest Projects costs that are covered from the coin matching, an therefore can slightly reduce the matching, are: Freicoin Network Transaction Fees, Freicoin demurrage costs and in case of proxy payments to other currencies: exchange costs and transaction fees in this network. Time and resource costs from The Freiinvest Project are not covered and therefore are dependent purely on your donation to The Freiinvest Project.

    * * The goal is to encourage cooperation, sharing of knowledge and a non harming fair economy. Therefore only investments which fit to this ethical rules are supported by The Freiinvest Project. If you want to have an organisation or project white- or black- listed, just post here or write an message.

Current caretaker of this project is Martin(Arcurus) .
If you want to participate or just have some suggestions, please feel free to post here or send an message!

As I said you before, I'm the co-developper of an "analogic" alternative financial system called FAZ. We had the nomination from a local enterprises' pool of an italian South Italy city with about 160.00 inhabitants, to make a proposal for a local economic system based on a demurraged currency, basic income and free loans to enterprises. Our deal is to make a new Worgl experiment, the italian one! We have the guarantee that enterprises' pool will accept the currency and that the city major will accept the currency in payment for local taxes. We're going to work to a system based on negative rate corporate bonds used as currency, but could be interesting in parallel to understand if Freicoin/Solidar could be used, implementing also a free loans system in cryptocurrency.

Arcurus got a reaction from Bicknellski in The end of the foundation
here is the root of the basic misunderstanding between the Freicoin Core Developers and the Freicoin community.
@jtimon and maaku wants basically Bitcoin with demurrage plus Freimarkets
many of the community wanted Bitcoin with demurrage plus republicoin i call it freirepublic, because it was at least initially not meant to be a coin.
With freirepublic we could support many projects to make Silvio Gesells vision of a Freieconomy true step by step.
Demurrage was only one part of it and never to stand alone (see wiki).

So the question is, do we want Freicoin to be Bitcoin with demurrage plus Freimarkets.
Or do we want Freicoin to use as tool to implement a Freieconomy as Silvio Gesell suggested?

For me freimarkets can go together with Freirepublic / Freieconomy, they are just two different parts of the greater vision.
Therefore i would suggest that maaku and @jitmon concentrate on fremarkets and updated clients, while other parts of the community concentrate on implementing freirepublic.

@all please take part in answering this discussion so that we get a clear picture!

i wish you and maaku would take part in a more detailed discussion about pos. I dont think that it's flawed, to be clear im talking about a POS POW combination not pure POS.
to be more clear, im not talking about a peer coin like POS. im talking about a dash like layer two POS POW combination.
yes i also think the peer coin POS implementation is flawed, but up to now i dont see a big flaw that cannot be solved in the layer two dash like POS.
please take part in the discussion here:
what is the alternative? proof of work as it is now means that each year 5% from that > 80% is just burned for electricity, the rest goes mostly to  one who have a monopoly on mining equipment...
on top of that up to now we have no good way to implement republicoin / freirepublic / any alternative coin distribution with pure pow

    >Isn't that what the foundation is currently supposed to do?
yes the foundation was supposed to distribute the coins as agreed. Sadly it didnt. That does not meant that the idea was bad it just meant that the execution of the idea was bad.
also with my proposal the amount of risk would be limited to 100.000 Freicoin and not 80 Million Freicoins. Having 80 Million hanging in limbo is like having a deathtricker in you hand.
Also my proposal can be implemented as a softfork which can be easy replaced later.
    > the community also didn't developed any other distribution program.
i see here also a clear difference of perception. in software development normally you design what you want to have, then you review the design, then you implement it, because changes in the implementation are very costly compared to changes in the design.
Therefore just saying yes you can implement something, maybe we will use it maybe not, is not very encouraging especially most are not developers that can implement it at all and are dependent on the core devs, or at least on the one who is holding the key to the foundation funds.

Thanks to @fedde 's exchange, the fresh ideas from @Skaro , @Adilado and @jtimon i am now again looking at freicoin with confidence. I am really exited to see the "freiexchange 2.0" in action and think that we will find a way to adopt Freicoin to the new situation to make up a worldwide freiconomy without debt and dangerous bubbles, because that was what we are here for since 2013.
I am now fully in FRC again and given up the positions in all other coins feeling good with it. I hope our ( @Bicknellski  , @Arcurus ) call  for do or die was the wake up call we needed.

i dont think that neither @jtimon or marc will even look into proof of stake.
If you want proof of stake (combined with proof of work) i guess you have to do it like segwitt2X. secure the economic majority, then implement proof of stake like for example done in dash as layer two. then make a softfork and add it.
@jtimon by the way if you want to know how a distributed foundation can be implemented in a soft fork, just look how dash does it. yes the technology is out there since years and functioning very well!

doesn't sound that great to me. its basically Bitcoin with demurrage for eternity to miners what @jtimon suggested.
i strongly oppose not to look into proof of stake security
to the soft fork, that could be easy to implement, just add one address where some part of the block reward goes if less than 100K coins are on that and give control of the address to someone who does the job of distributing them. later we can decentralize it.
simply destroy the coins seems up to now the best solution for the foundation.
simply out of curiosity, where did the community fail in distributing the coins?
